CatholicFIT Curriculum | Module 2
Here is the Week 2 Worksheet, with all other resources linked below
It’s time to talk about WATER because we might just start sweating a little bit as we get moving and practicing agility exercises like skipping and side shuffling.
Though there is more to water than what we need when we exercise. Remember, even Jesus was baptized with water by John (Matthew 3:13-17).
So it must be crazy important not only to drink water, but to bless ourselves each time we go to Mass to recommit to being the Christians and saints (awesome, holy people) God has called us to be.
"Since the beginning of the world, water has been the source of life, and fruitfulness."

Activity Review & Learning Objectives
After watching the video demonstrating many loco-motor exercises and the Noah’s Ark Workout, students can head out and practice a few of these for a warm up. Then we cover the importance of water, both for physical health (before and during exercise), and in symbolizing life, especially when blessed to make holy water for baptism. After this week, students should be able to:
- understand and practice a variety of agility and dynamic exercises, including animal moves to improve motor control, core strength and total body coordination, and to serve as warm ups in future classes.
- understand the importance of water in our physical life, and to name a few physical benefits of staying hydrated, and a few negative effects of being dehydrated.
- understand the Urine Chart Poster (which should have been delivered to your school), and know when it is probably a good time to get an extra drink during the day.
- understand the importance of water in our spiritual life, and to list a few times we use water at Mass, during baptism, and other times in our faith life.
Reflection Questions
- Faith – when do we use water in our faith life? During Mass? During which Sacraments? CCC#1217-1219: “water is the source of life and fruitfulness”; what does “fruitfulness” mean to you?
- Fitness – what percentage of your body is water? How much water should we drink a day? What happens if we become dehydrated – to our muscles? Our skin? Our brain? Our digestive system? Our immune system?

Cathletic Locomotor Exercises – whoah! Get ready for some tougher versions of each exercise we do this week – if you or your students want to be athletes (I believe everyone has an inner athlete, or at least an inner-natural-mover) inside of them, then these exercises are where it’s at. Have fun with these during any warm up for P.E. Class, running club, boot camp or team practice warm up.
Next Module | Food, Fasting & Squats
Staying with the nutrition theme, next week we will discuss Food & Fasting – the differences between mindful eating and fasting, and of course, the ultimate food Christ offers us – The Eucharist. Stay tuned and keep moving! God bless!
