To combat the faith and fitness challenges in the United States, we envision a team of educators and professionals collaborating across the Catholic school and parish communities to help students and families answer two questions: (1) what does it mean to me to be Catholic? (2) What does it mean to me to be fit? We believe a person who can personally and effectively answer these questions will embrace their faith and fitness at a more meaningful level.
Mission
In the spirit of Matthew 28:19, to make disciples (lifelong learners) of faith and fitness by creating programs for moments in a Catholic person’s life: i.e. primary and secondary education, athletics, marriage prep and others. A “disciple of faith and fitness” is a student, inspired by his or her new-found physical and spiritual awareness, guided by the Catholic Church, supported by its supernatural family and exists in a state where a belief that more physical and spiritual health and fitness is always possible.
Strategies
- To be a resource for physical education teachers, sport coaches and volunteers, providing cutting edge information, coaching and teaching methodology and financial resources and equipment
- To support the health, fitness and wellness effort in Roman Catholic school and parishes
- To partner with Catholic hospitals and health care systems to provide funding and other professional referrals and resources
- To add and or enhance the fitness component of each parish’s health ministry
We are developing workshops and programs for people experiencing the following moments.
Moments of a CatholicFIT Person
- K-12 Physical Education Curriculum
- Scouting Organizations (American Rangers, Heritage Girls)
- Marriage prep health and fitness workshops
- Sports Camps
- Men’s Club & other ministry fellowship groups
- Senior and Active Adult Strength & Stretch Classes

Hello Theresa, I apologize for not replying sooner … I am working on updates for the next school year. I would love to do a home school version. For now, you can do you best at following along from home. If you are interested in following along, I may be able to include you in emails and handouts that go out. Where are you located? And thank you so much for your interest and comment. God bless!!
